I thought I'd kick off my new blog by sharing the invitations that I made for my daughters birthday. My youngest is getting ready to turn 1...and as with all of my kid's first birthdays, we make a big deal about it. I make their invitations, cake, thank you cards, and my husband and I host one big party! For Mary Kate's birthday I decided to do a ladybug theme. (You would not believe all the decorations they have for a ladybug themed party...incredible:) As things progress closer to her birthday I'll be sure to share it all...but for now, here are the invitations that I'll be sending out soon!
Mary Kate's Invitation
I started with a square piece of cardstock and ran it through my printer with the invitation wording. Then I stamped the grass along the bottom (Hero Arts Stamp) using VersaColor - Bamboo ink. I created the ladybug using round punches (3 1/2" - red body, 2" - head, and 3/4" - spots). Next I tied the bow using a red satin ribbon. I made the antennas using black wire...curling them using needle nose plyers. Lastly I attached the ladybug to the square cardstock using a black brad so that the ladybug can turn to reveal the invitation.
